Dick Eikenberg, CEO/Owner

As the CEO and owner of both Business Builders (2001-present) and Flatlander Industries (1986-present), you might say Dick Eikenberg is a busy man. But to Dick, it’s the only way to be. With business in his blood and fire in his eyes, Dick thrives on helping businesses reach goals and reach success.

You may have met Dick during his recent term as the President of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce or in his current role as Chairman of the Economic Development Council of the Bloomington-Normal Area. Or, perhaps you’ve ran into him having a burger at one of our new downtown or uptown establishments! Sure, we sometimes have to tell Dick to act his age, but young or old, we all agree that Dick’s unique blend of professionalism and approachability make him one in a million.

Known for his passion for giving back to the community in which he lives, the employees he mentors, and the family he loves … Dick has a rich life beyond that of a successful client list. They say it’s lonely at the top, but this leader has and will always be surrounded by family and friends who support his efforts and enjoy his company (and his companies!).

Jennifer McCarron, Vice President

CEOs can’t help but enjoy the contagious enthusiasm that Jennifer projects. With a Master’s Degree in Communications, over 15 years of experience, and a passion for promotion, clients of all sizes indicate that Jennifer’s work makes a huge impact in their companies.

Even though Jennifer’s public relations and branding skills rival those of large agencies in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, she prefers to perform her magic right here in the community she loves. Happily-married mother of two, friend of many, respectful of all, and admitted caffeine addict, Jennifer is someone you should get to know.

Tracy Widergren, Marketing & Sales Consultant

You’d better watch your p’s & q’s with this talented team member. With a double major in English and Public Relations (Illinois State University) and hands-on experience in technical writing, editing, marketing, and sales, Tracy gets the opportunity to showcase her most powerful skills on a daily basis.

But, don’t let her attention to detail and complex coordination skills scare you; she’s as approachable and friendly as they come. As a sports lover with one husband, one dog, one cat, and one little boy, you’ll find Tracy to be one heck of a great person.

Shane Thomison, Senior Design Manager

At first, we thought Shane was too good to be true. Here, we had found a talented designer with very strong technical skills and over ten years of experience. Shane has shared his design and development expertise with a wide range of clients including: small businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and large corporations on regional, national, and global levels. He’s communicative, professional, and enthusiastic. And, he has a wonderful wife of ten years and three great kids (all under 8 years old). It’s all too perfect.

While we are still in the process of digging up dirt on Shane, we can tell you we have discovered that Shane has been known to take a special interest in Bigfoot--the large beast, not the large truck. Sure, we think it’s a bit unusual. But, who isn’t, right?

Conrad Davis, Graphic Designer

With a Graphic Design degree from Illinois State University, a talent for drawing and computers, and a love for learning new things, Conrad Davis was a perfect Business Builders fit.

When Conrad is not developing creative solutions for Business Builders’ clients, you may find him checking out the local music scene, watching the Chicago Bears, playing video games, or reading a new novel. He always recommends anything by Chuck Palahniuk. We’re not sure he’s getting enough sleep or nutrition, but we do know his work and attitude are consistently excellent!

Evan Walles, Graphic Supervisor

Evan is a very talented Graphic Designer, Illinois State University grad, and all-around nice guy. Perhaps more important, however, is that Evan has seen Bob Dylan in concert more than eight times. We thought it best to just come right out and tell you, as it’s always best to be honest right from the start.

Also worthy of note is that while Evan has always had a passion for the visual arts, he also has another love … baseball. Sure, we could tell you about the love for his new, sweet wife Melissa, but we are not sure what will happen if game-day ever conflicts with an anniversary. We’ll keep you posted on this interesting artist!
